Cuando me piden que enseñe judo sin que me pidan que muestre algunas técnicas particulares, a menudo me gusta enseñar por qué el judo es tan importante desde el punto de vista técnico y educativo.
Inmediatamente empiezo a decir que el judo es la disciplina más agradable y completa de todo el mundo.
Luego, les explico que "bonito" refleja mi opinión personal sobre el judo, que, sin embargo, no se puede generalizar porque estoy totalmente involucrado en él; por otro lado, estoy realmente convencido de que el Judo es más completo que todas las demás disciplinas.
De hecho, Judo nació y se estableció entre las escuelas de Jujutsu, cuyos principios heredó: Atemi Waza, Nage Waza, Katame Waza.
Pero no tenemos que pensar en las técnicas que están codificadas en el Gokyo o seleccionadas para el Newaza; en cambio, deberíamos pensar en los cientos de técnicas más peligrosas, con o sin armas, que nunca han sido admitidas en el deporte del Judo.
Además, un punto crucial de Judo didáctico, uno muy singular, es que busca el mejor uso de la energía física y espiritual para que podamos vivir en armonía con las demás personas y avanzar con ellas.
La gran herencia técnica, junto con los grandes principios morales y sociales, que se aplican durante la capacitación con el objetivo de mejorar a cada persona y a toda la sociedad, son exactamente lo que hace que el Judo sea único.
Cuando afirmo que el Judo Kodokan es la disciplina más completa en todo el mundo, no tengo la intención de compararlo con las otras artes marciales desde un punto de vista técnico porque no estoy interesado en ello;
Prefiero pensar en el método didáctico del judo, que permite formar mejores personas y una mejor sociedad.

When I am called upon to teach Judo without being asked to show some particular techniques, I often like teaching why Judo is so important from the technical and educational point of view
I immediately begin saying that Judo is the nicest and most complete discipline all over the world.
Then, I explain that ‘nice’ reflects my personal opinion about Judo, which, however, cannot be generalized since I’m totally involved in it; on the other hand, I’m really persuaded that Judo is more complete than all other disciplines.
In fact, Judo was born and established itself among the Jujutsu schools, whose principles it inherited: Atemi Waza, Nage Waza, Katame Waza.
But we don’t have to think about the techniques which are codified in the Gokyo or selected for the Newaza; instead, we should think about the hundreds of more dangerous techniques, with or without weapons, which have never been admitted in the Judo sport.
Besides, a crucial point of Judo didactic, a very unique one, is that it looks for the best use of physical and spiritual energy so that we can live harmoniously with the other people and make progress with them.
The great technical heritage together with the great moral and social principles, which are applied during the training with the goal of improving every person and the whole society, are exactly what makes Judo unique.
When I assert that Judo Kodokan is the most complete discipline all over the world, I do not intend to compare it with the other martial arts from a technical point of view because I’m not interested in it;
I rather think about the didactical method of Judo, which allows training better people and a better society.
