WOA launches World Olympians Forum II

World Olympians Association is pleased to announce the launch of the second World Olympians Forum (WOF), which will be held in Lausanne, Switzerland from 15 to 17 April 2019.
The event will bring together 150 Olympians from over 120 National Olympians Associations (NOAs) around the world under the theme Olympians for Life. In line with WOA’s mission to serve the needs of Olympians and to empower them to make a positive difference in their communities, the Forum will focus on strengthening NOAs and building relationships within the Olympic Movement and the wider sport community. Sessions and activities will include workshops, presentations, networking, dialogue, and cultural celebrations.
The Forum will also feature a joint session with the IOC 9th International Athletes’ Forum – which runs from 13-15 April. The joint session will take place on Monday 15 April and will see athlete and Olympian representatives from across the Olympic Movement come together to build a unified and effective network for future cooperation.
The joint session is part of a wider strategic initiative between WOA and the IOC Athletes’ Commission to work in partnership on Olympian and athlete welfare, development and engagement.

Following on from the success of our inaugural event, together with the incredible strides forward we as an organisation have made in recent years, I am confident that it will be a special gathering of Olympians from around the world.
“I am also pleased to announce our joint session with the IOC 9th International Athletes’ Forum – an innovative platform that will see WOA and the IOC Athletes’ Commission continue to forge a stronger working partnership that will, ultimately, help to better serve Olympians and athletes long into the future.
“At WOA we believe in the values of Olympism, and as we now build up to this event I am looking forward to seeing NOAs and Olympians come together to share in those values. The Forum is just one of the ways in which we aspire to connect and support Olympians around the world and I believe that by joining together, we can strengthen these aspirations and enact positive change.”
The first edition of the World Olympians Forum was held in 2015 in Moscow, Russia, and saw more than 284 delegates attend – spanning 121 NOAs.
La WOA lanza el 2º Foro Mundial de Atletas Olímpicos

La Asociación Mundial de Atletas Olímpicos tiene el placer de anunciar el lanzamiento del Segundo Foro Mundial de Atletas Olímpicos (WOF), que tendrá lugar en Lausana, Suiza del 15 al 17 de abril 2019.
El evento reunirá 150 Atletas Olímpicos de más de 120 Asociaciones Nacionales de Atletas Olímpicos (NOAs) de todo el mundo bajo el tema Olympians for Life. En línea con la misión de la WOA de atender las necesidades de los Atletas Olímpicos y facultarlos para hacer una diferencia positiva en sus comunidades, el Foro se focalizará en fortalecer las NOAs y construir relaciones dentro del Movimiento Olímpico y la amplia comunidad deportiva. Las sesiones y actividades incluirán talleres, presentaciones, redes de comunicación, diálogo, y celebraciones culturales.
El Foro también incluirá una sesión conjunta con el 9º Foro Internacional de Atletas del COI – que se realizará del 13 al 15 de abril. La sesión conjunta tendrá lugar el lunes 15 de abril y contará con representantes de atletas y Atletas Olímpicos de todo el Movimiento Olímpico que se reunirán para crear una red de comunicación más efectiva y unificada para cooperación futura.
La sesión conjunta es parte de una iniciativa estratégica más amplia entre la WOA y la Comisión de Atletas del COI para trabajar en sociedad por el bienestar, desarrollo y compromiso del Atleta Olímpico y del atleta.
El Presidente de la WOA, Jöel Bouzou OLY dijo:

Luego del éxito de nuestro evento inaugural, junto con los increíbles avances que hemos tenido como organización en los últimos años, estoy confiado en que será un encuentro especial de Atletas Olímpicos de todo el mundo.
“También me complace anunciar nuestra sesión conjunta con el 9º Foro Internacional de Atletas del COI – una plataforma innovadora que permitirá que la WOA y la Comisión de Atletas del COI continúen forjando una relación laboral más fuerte que, en definitiva, ayudará a servir mejor a los Atletas Olímpicos y atletas en el futuro.
“En la WOA creemos en los valores del Olimpismo, y como ahora nos preparamos para este evento espero ver a las NOAs y a los Atletas Olímpicos juntarse para compartir estos valores. El Foro es solo una de las formas en la que nosotros aspiramos conectarnos y apoyar a los Atletas Olímpicos en el mundo y creo que uniéndonos, podemos fortalecer estas aspiraciones y provocar el cambio positivo”.
La primera edición del Foro Mundial de Atletas Olímpicos se llevó a cabo en 2015 en Moscú, Rusia, y contó con la asistencia de 284 delegados – abarcando 121 NOAs.
