EUROPEAN JUDO CHAMPIONSHIPS GLASGOW 2015 CANCELLED / UNION EUROPEA DE JUDO CANCELA EL CAMPEONATO EL CAMPEONATO EUROPEO DE JUDO GLASGOW 2015
The European Judo Union has come to the realisation that the British Judo Association does not fit the EJU criteria to host the EJU flagship event.
The BJA had entered into a sponsorship agreement which did not meet the EJU values. BJA persisted in this, notwithstanding that it had been warned on a number of occasions that this arrangement was unacceptable to the EJU, which has a right under the event contract to approve or disapprove any sponsorships of EJU events.
In their several e-mails and telephone conversations the BJA refereed to a loss of funding. In addition, the BJA missed the agreed deadline to pay the event license fee, which is also a breach of contract.
Taking all of the above into consideration, and given the limited time to the staging of the European Championships, in order to protect the interests of the EJU national federations and European judoka, EJU Executive Committee have unanimously taken the decision to withdraw the event from Glasgow and designate as quickly as possible an alternative host who is willing and able to stage these continental judo championships.
Having informed the BJA regarding the termination of the Contract, the EJU has begun negotiations with alternative potential organisers. The EJU EC are confident that the best possible solution will be found in the shortest possible time. Further information setting out the change to the staging of the European Championships will be published after the end of negotiations.

La Unión Europea de Judo ha llegado a la conclusión que la asociación británica de Judo no se ajusta a los criterios de la EJU para acoger el evento insignia EJU.
La BJA había entrado en un acuerdo de patrocinio que no cumplía con los valores de la EJU. BJA persistió en esto, no obstante que se había advertido en varias ocasiones que este acuerdo era inaceptable para la EJU, que tiene derecho bajo el contrato de evento para aprobar o desaprobar cualquier patrocinios de eventos EJU.
En sus varios e-mails y conversaciones telefónicas la BJA arbitrado a una pérdida de fondos. Además, la BJA venció el plazo acordado para pagar la cuota de licencia de evento, que también es una violación del contrato.
Tomando todo lo anterior en consideración y teniendo en cuenta el tiempo limitado para la puesta en escena de los campeonatos europeos, con el fin de proteger los intereses de las federaciones nacionales EJU y judoka Europea, Comité Ejecutivo EJU unánimemente han tomado la decisión para retirar el evento de Glasgow y designar lo más rápidamente posible un hospedador alternativo que está dispuesto y capaz de organizar estos campeonatos de judo continental.
Habiendo informado la BJA en relación con la terminación del contrato, la EJU ha iniciado las negociaciones con los organizadores potenciales alternativas. La EJU EC están seguros de que se encontrará la mejor solución posible en el menor tiempo posible.
