First TAFISA Certified Leadership Course in Spanish Hosted in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic

On 4-7 December 2019, the Dominican Federation for Sport for All – under the leadership of its President Joaquin Albizu Levy – hosted the first TAFISA Certified Leadership Course in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
Over four days, 22 national participants learnt about various topics such as the Global Sport for All Movement, Leadership and Management, Communications, or Campaigns and events among others. The course was led by TAFISA Project Manager Maria Lourdes Gonzalez, and Leonardo Calix Soares, Manager of Sport Assistant from SESC São Paulo.
Local speakers also delivered presentations on specific topics related to the local issues in their community and the Sport for All Movement in the Dominican Republic. A panel debate on Sport and Health was also staged, featuring renowned national practitioners and attended by the Vice-Minister for Sport for All, Soterio Ramirez. The Secretary General of the Dominican National Olympic Committee, Gilberto Garcia, also delivered a lecture in Sport Management and hosted a meeting in his office with TAFISA and the international speakers to exchange views on the Sport for All Movement and the current situation in the country and Latin America region.
