Ronda Rousey: 'I would be happy to compete in Metamoris' (terms and conditions may apply)

USA TODAY Sports
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women's bantamweight titleholder Ronda Rousey is confident she can beat any female in the world in a straight-up jiu-jitsu match, according to comments she made earlier this year, and might be even willing to prove it.
Eventually.
"Rowdy" was in Brazil last weekend for the UFC Fight Night 51 mixed martial arts (MMA) event on Fight Pass, and told reporters during her media scrum (watch it) that once she's retired from UFC -- or given the kind of coin she makes inside the cage -- she would be willing to put her judo where her mouth is.
"I'd be happy to do Metamoris if they paid me as much as they paid me for a UFC fight. I don't really have that much time. Right now, it's so much to keep up with the acting career, and the MMA career going. And everyone keeps going, 'Are you going to do WWE? Are you going to do Metamoris? Are you going to do four fights this year? Are you going to be an astronaut?' I'm like, 'Hold on. I can't make time to run for President right now, I can only do so many things at one time.' I would happy to do Metamoris. I think it would be a really cool idea when I'm done fighting, too, because that's one of those sports that is kinder on the joints that you can do for a long time."
Somewhere in Brazil, Gabby Garcia is pumping iron.
Rousey may be known worldwide for her exploits inside the Octagon, but she's more than just a talented MMA fighter, having captured a bronze medal in Judo at the 2008 Summer Olympics. While no opponent to date has been able to stop her patented armbar, she's also proved to be a formidable striker. Can that success translate to wins on the grappling circuit?
We may find out in the very near future.
